Centerless grinding
is a very effective way of saving time and money on finishing
parts.Tolerances of .0001 or less can be held on diameters ranging
from .005 to 3.500 and lengths from 1/4" to 15 ft. long.
There are two types
of centerless grinding, thru-feed and infeed. When thru-feed
grinding, the work goes in one side of the machine and comes
out the other. The infeed method is used when work has a shoulder,
head, or some portion larger than the ground diameter.
